Spring Into Action: Regroup & Recharge Your 2024

First, a quick check-in: How are you doing with your goals so far in 2024? Wait, don’t click away – wherever you are is where you’re supposed to be…

Spring is springing and we’re heading into Q2, so it’s a good time for friendly nudging. Not judging, just genuine curiosity and a motivational message: If you feel that you’ve fallen off track, I'm here to remind you that it's not just okay; it's a part of the growth process.

I’ll admit up front that I’m struggling a bit with some of my big goals. I’ve made great progress in some areas, while I’m falling behind on others. Sound familiar? Sometimes I feel down about it. But I refuse to stay there for very long.

Let's be real – New Year’s resolutions and annual goals have a notorious reputation for not surviving past winter. Yet, for the ambitious among us, it isn't really about giving up.

We're simply in search of that personal alchemy that transforms goals into tangible achievements.

Despite goals you have yet to conquer, remember that your path has been significantly enriched by simply setting them. This quest for progress doesn't just move us closer to our targets; it's what makes the ride worthwhile.

Considering the times you’ve faced adversity this year, ponder where hidden opportunities may lie. What does this mean? What could it mean or should it mean? What else can you do to adjust course and get back on track?

Persistence and patience are key here. As you navigate your year, remember, even the smallest win is a high note, so celebrate them all.

It seems no one uses print maps anymore, which can prevent us from seeing the big picture. With GPS, we enter a destination, but the estimated time of arrival changes as we get rerouted due to a traffic jam or a scenic detour. The endpoint remains, but the ETA updates.

It’s OK if we’re not achieving at the pace we anticipated, or arriving when we thought we would. Days seem long but the weeks, months, and years move quickly.

Delays are not denials. Give yourself grace and then get back in the game. Tomorrow is another day, Scarlett.

It's not about how quickly we reach the end zone, but the progress we make every day with every play. The very act of moving forward produces better versions of ourselves.

Your role as a communicator is to create resounding messages, and the most important audience for those impactful words is you. Speak kindly to yourself, set those goals with conviction, and enjoy the journey with all its twists and turns.

Last bit of advice: Keep your goals – at least your top 3 rocks – where you can see them. Whether on your wall, mirror, screen, or mind’s eye.

Here's to continuing to craft a 2024 that’s more than a collection of months but a year of compelling growth and progress. We're not just setting goals; we’re shaping our future.

Stick with me. We're going to get good at making our lives great.
